Edward "Whitey" Ford's control and precision as pitcher of the New York Yankees is what led team manager Casey Stengel to refer to him as the "money pitcher." The eight-time All-Star won 10 of his 22 World Series appearances, the most pitcher appearances ever, and earned the Cy Young Award in 1961.
