The Oakland A's selected David Newhan in the 17th round of 1995 amateur draft, and made his MLB debut with the Padres in 1999. After bouncing between the Majors and the minors with several teams, Newhan joined the Mets in 2007 and is a role player who can play just about any position in the infield or outfield.
