Endy Chavez was in the Mets' minor league system from 1996 until he was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 2000 Rule V Draft. The centerfielder played for the Royals in 2001, the Expos from 2002-04, and split 2005 between Washington and Philadelphia before coming to the Mets for the 2006 season. Chavez had his best year yet in 2006, when he hit .306 in 353 at bats.
