No one knows what the future will hold for Aaron Small, but this much is certain: the Yankees wouldn't have been in the thick of a pennant race in 2005 were it not for Small. When pitcher after pitcher succumbed to injury during the 2005 season, Small - a high school teammate of Jason Giambi's, had spent most of his career in the minor leagues, with forays into the majors with Toronto, Florida, Oakland, Arizona and Atlanta -- took to the mound and came up big, notching vital win after win for the Bombers.
